🏁 Street Racing (Redline)

Blackveil’s street racing scene runs entirely through the Redline app on your phone β€” there’s no fixed race track, races are created by players.

Getting access

Redline is locked until you get a Racing Access Key item β€” the app shows as β€œUnauthorized Access” until you use one. Once unlocked, it stays unlocked for good.

Building a track

Anyone can build a track:

  • E places a checkpoint
  • Left Ctrl deletes the last checkpoint you placed
  • Arrow keys adjust how wide the checkpoint markers are
  • Left Alt cycles through marker prop styles
  • X saves and exits

You need at least 2 checkpoints to save a track.

Hosting and joining a race

From the Redline app, a host picks a saved track and a race mode:

  • Casual β€” free to join, no stakes, just bragging rights and a spot on the leaderboard.
  • Competition β€” the host sets an entry fee (between $500 and $20,000, in cash), and every racer pays in to join. Racers who don’t finish forfeit their stake.

A race needs at least 2 people to show up as joinable on the open-race list. Once a race fills and starts, there’s a short countdown, and racers pass through each other during the race (no ramming your rivals off the road).

Payouts and ranking

Competition races split the pot between the top finishers (1st place gets the biggest cut, 2nd gets less, and so on) β€” DNFs get nothing back.

Every racer also has a hidden ELO rating, starting at 1200. Win competition races and your rating climbs; lose and it drops. You need at least 1200 ELO to host a competition race yourself, so build up some wins in casual races or as a passenger-turned-racer before you can start setting the stakes.
