🐟 Fishing

A solo trade — no job or group required.

What you need

A fishing rod and fishing bait in your inventory. Bait has a chance of being used up on every cast, so keep a stack of it handy.

Where to fish

Four spots around the map: Grape Seed (lake), El Gordo Lighthouse (sea), La Puerta (sea), and a pond in Vinewood Hills.

How it works

1. Stand in a fishing zone and cast your line.
2. Wait for a bite (a few seconds up to about 20).
3. When you get a bite, pass the skill-check prompt to reel it in. Miss it and the fish gets away.

Selling your catch

Sell what you catch to the old man near the docks. Prices depend on what you land and where you caught it — sea fish like Swordfish and Cod tend to beat lake/pond catches like Carp and Bluegill. You’ll occasionally reel in junk (an old bag, a shoe) worth a dollar or two.
