π« Petty Crime
Small-time crime for cash and loose change. On-duty police and EMS canβt commit any of these β everyone else can.
Heat
Every petty crime feeds a personal heat meter (0β100) that decays slowly over time. The higher your heat, the more likely your next crime immediately triggers a police dispatch call:
| Heat level | Dispatch chance |
|---|---|
| 0β29 | 8% |
| 30β59 | 30% |
| 60β89 | 55% |
| 90β100 | 85% |
Youβll get a notification as you cross into βGetting Noticed,β βHeat Rising,β and βHotβ territory β take it as your cue to cool off for a while.
Pickpocketing
Target any regular pedestrian on the street (not other players) and pass the skill-check to lift their wallet. Has its own cooldown, and any given target wonβt be worth targeting again for a few minutes.
Porch piracy
Steal packages left on porches around Mirror Park. Most are small or medium boxes; large boxes need a knife to open. About 1 in 7 packages is rigged with a glitter bomb β pop one and it forces a police alert and a heat spike, though you can disarm it in time if youβre quick.
Postboxes and letterboxes
Lockpick a postbox or residential mailbox for a chance at a piece of mail. Postboxes have a real chance your lockpick gets stuck mid-attempt, tripping extra heat. Both reset a while after being picked and wonβt reward you for hitting the same box repeatedly in a row.
Parking meters
Smash one open with a bat, crowbar, hammer, or wrench for a small cash payout. Each meter has its own cooldown before itβs worth hitting again.
Selling sensitive mail
Some mail you pick up turns out to be a letter_sensitive β sellable to a roaming fence NPC who moves between several spots around the map every few hours. Regular junk mail can just be opened for a chance at quick cash instead.
A tip on loot
Richer neighborhoods roll better loot across the board β donβt expect the same payout picking a mailbox in Grove Street as you would in Rockford Hills.
